To vitalized the local economy, the The City of Liberec wants to develop a resort hotel complex, which entails the redevelopment of existing structures, storage capability, associated maintenance equipment, a gymnasium, a solarium, client recreation services and facilities, purchase of additional commercial buildings, remodeling of the existing pool, landscaping, and a water recycling system. will purchase of additional commercial building for the project.
In addition to the hotel resort complex itself, the project includes the development of a gasoline/energy filling station with all clients services, a market, restaurant, additional hotel accommodations nearby, recreation facilities on lake, and other businesses appropriate to the location on the main highway to a major German border crossings.
Proposed Solution Concept:
The project will entail the build out of the new hotel resort including a plan to encompass, preserve, and renovate existing buildings. The complex will apply state-of-the-art technologies in the design, construction and operation, designed to provide a unique experience for prospective visitors. The build out will be accompanied by a publicity campaign promoting the location as a comprehensive destination experience. The buildings will be constructed using high efficiency “green materials,” providing the additional benefit of a new regional industry to support the creation of structures that use minimal electricity for heating and cooling. Solar panels will be incorporated into design to minimize aesthetic impact and maximize electric production. These designs will provide low impact on the current power grid, lower operating costs.

The agricultural decline has destabilized the economy of the region by threatening the loss of over 40,000 jobs. High price corn, largely due to ethanol production, has created a difficult environment for the dairy industry. The current status of the dairy industry in the region is far below current requisite standards. Decades of decline have left the herds non-productive due to the lack of quality feed, genetic technology, and proper health care. The current facility operations are primarily manual and inadequate to supply the region’s demand. Crop production lacks proper irrigation, harvest/transport machinery, and processing facilities.
Proposed Solution Concept:
The proposed solution is a totally new business model for these activities, creating an activities ecosystem and synergism with different activities, utilizing the opportunities generated in each activity to create new high value revenue. This first unit needed to build the ecosystem is a milk processing plant, which will generate 600 new jobs in the region and also generate a commercialization channel that will be used for others producers.
